Social Sentinel and the National School Boards Association (NSBA) are thrilled to announce the four winners of their DonorsChoose gift card drawing. The two organizations teamed up at the 2019 NSBA Conference in Philadelphia earlier this month to help support classroom projects for schools in need. The winners, listed below, have active projects in DonorsChoose ranging from technology requests to basic needs including backpacks, cleaning supplies, and sports equipment.

“School safety was a priority topic at the 2019 NSBA Annual Conference and we are pleased Social Sentinel not only supported this educational focus at the Conference but also stepped up to provide four school districts with additional funding to help meet new projects in the classroom,” said Tom Gentzel, NSBA Executive Director.

The winning schools were selected at random, and they are:

Social Sentinel and NSBA elected to use DonorsChoose gift cards to ensure funds go directly to projects selected by teachers and school administrators and to encourage community members to lend their support. The nonprofit DonorsChoose stimulates crowdfunding for school projects, allowing donations to have an immediate impact on classrooms.

To date, 81 percent of public schools in the United States have had at least one project request on DonorsChoose.org, and more than 1 million projects have been funded.
