Social Sentinel Makes its Debut on Vermont Business Magazine’s Best Places to Work List

Vermont Business Magazine Best Places to Work 2019 winner

Burlington, VT, February 11, 2019 - Social Sentinel’s growth and success has catapulted the safety-driven, company-on-a-mission into the rankings of one of the Best Places to Work in Vermont for 2019.  Social Sentinel’s solution allows the education industry to look for threats online in ways that are otherwise humanly impossible, scanning upwards of 1 billion data points daily for threats of harm (known as “leakage”) across dozens of complex platforms. As a critical component to clients’ safety and security programs, Social Sentinel helps to hear cries for help before tragedy strikes.

Vermont Business Magazine’s annual workplace rankings list aims to identify and honor the best places of employment in Vermont, citing those companies that benefit the state's economy, its workforce and businesses.

“Vermont is home to incredible talent and some of the most unique workplaces in the country, and Social Sentinel is proud to be recognized among them as one of the best places to work,” says Rick Gibbs, president of Social Sentinel. “Our growth and success are meaningful in several ways: we are bringing tech jobs to the local economy; we are giving back to the community, and we are helping clients across the country avert tragedies and save lives. Our success is everyone’s success.”

In 2018, Social Sentinel doubled its workforce, increased its annual recurring revenue more than 240% from 2017-2018, and grew its client base by threefold. This spring, the company will relocate to a larger office space to accommodate the growing team.

To be considered for the Best Places to Work in Vermont, companies enter a two-part survey process. The first part evaluates workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems, and demographics. The second part consists of an employee survey to measure the employee experience. Best Companies Group managed the overall registration and survey process in Vermont and analyzed the data to determine the final rankings.

The final rankings for each category will be announced at a special awards presentation in early spring 2019. For more information on the Best Places to Work in Vermont program, visit
